The Harbour

Photographs, Video and Stuff
There’s nothing worse than having rusty bollards…
They make them out of stone here in Scotland
See a large versions of the images below here.
Or, as we used to say in the days when merchant ships carried Radio Officers – QTP MacDuff (in Morse code of course).
Cranes, these days, controlled from a radio-control box. Clever stuff!
The Fisher Boys and the Serenity cosy on up…
Where I have spent most of my life!!!
I’ve gone a bit arty-farty today…
I’ve taken photographs of the Seaker before but this one from the top of the harbour wall (a sheer drop down into the sea – EEK!)
That’s Banff, Scotland over in the far distance…
British fishing vessels have a name and a registration number. BF = Banff, Scotland and the registration number 9.

What happens when you get your camera settings wrong. It sometimes turns out okay….
Here is a very rare site in Holland, a marina without any boats.
The reason is the marina here at Hemmeland (Monnickendam) is being dredged to make the water deeper for the boats that are normally here. All the boats that are normally parked here have been moved out of the way so the dredger can do its work.
The quayside in Monnickendam town harbour is being extended. This means that more people will be able to sit and enjoy food, drink and ice cream during the summer.
All peaceful in Monnickendam harbour this morning. The perfect day for whipping out the long lens!
