The Shipyard at Night

Photographs, Video and Stuff
Water from the stream always tastes better…
Probably the best time to visit the beach. When the tide is out, all is revealed!
Here’s today’s last post. An image showing the sun setting over the MacDuff Harbour entrance. Another beautiful sunset.
We all need courage at the moment…..
We saw a new type of chicken today whilst we were walking the dog on the beach. We know it is a chicken but we’re wondering what kind of chicken it is…
We often walk along the beach from Banff to Whitehills (good place to buy fresh fish) and, on the way, we pass the old Roman Well (and I thought the Roman’s didn’t get this far north). It has been there since Roman times (AD 43 to AD 47) and so it was built around 2,000 years ago. They build things to last in Scotland!!! More about this small but nonetheless interesting building here.
I walked to Whitehills and back today and realised it is a 6 mile round-trip. Oh so very healthy!
The view from our house…
And in mono…
PS: Our dog has never caught a rabbit (and so she ain’t no friend of mine – ha ha ha!)
The fishing vessel Lilly Oak sits on her cradle on the slip at MacDuff Harbour, Scotland. The slip is a long sloping concrete ramp (image coming soon) used to haul boats out of the water for repair and repainting. The cradle that supports the ships runs on railway lines on the slip.

The Scarborough trawler Courage early this morning, fishing nets ready….
Don’t say you weren’t warned! See previous post. There is nothing at Troup Head to stop you falling over the cliff if you get too close to the edge.
Troup Head is a RSPB sanctuary not far from where we live in Banff. Some magnificent scenery and the sanctuary is teaming with birds and other wildlife. So good that we have these protected sites in the Scotland.
I can’t help thinking that the Masons are, in some way, linked to Harry Potter! My father was a mason. He kept all his wizardry tools in a little brown leather suitcase and we were never allowed to see what was stored away in his secret suitcase….sandwiches and a magic wand perhaps? If I turn into a toad after posting this, you’ll know why!
Banff harbour, Scotland…
Serious coastal defences needed in Scotland where the wind surely blows…..
These somewhat dim chickens are clearly lining up for a group portrait but why did they choose a rock so far away?
My pal Katy waiting for me to throw the ball…
We’ve been living in Banff, Scotland, for just over a week now and the orange ship has been anchored off Banff for all that time. We can’t help wondering why it is there and why it isn’t going anywhere. We watch the ship daily whilst it swings around its anchor as the tide changes. The ship with nowhere to go!
Dawn breaking over Banff, Scotland. Moody sky this morning
