The Pods

A leaf that’s just about had it…
The flower from an earlier post but given the neural treatment in Photoshop…
It has been a while since a chicken featured and so here’s one from this morning…
Nice to have your nuts in a cluster don’t you think?
The best things come in pairs…
There’s nothing worse than prickly balls…
…in a bit of a flap…
Gear down, flaps down, final approach!
Full throttle, flaps and undercarriage up. Seatbacks and tray tables in their upright position! V1 – V2 ROTATE!
Spring seems to start a little later for us here in the north of Scotland. But Spring (thankfully) is nearly here…
Hands up all those who like Richard’s images!!!
…and with a dirty beak for some reason…
It looks like Spring is breaking out…
Just dropping in for breakfast…
Always good to end the day with a chicken…
Lots of trees that were blown over in the recent gale are now ex-trees…
‘Are you lookin’ at me?!’
More fun with the Photoshop Neural Filter…
Never a good idea to shoot with a fast shutter speed and high ISO setting on a dull day. Too much noise! De-noise tends to blur the image. Better to wait for the sun to shine!
This chicken seems to be waving at somebody…
Flaps up!!!
Fasten your seatbelts and tray in the upright position.
Chickens just love suet. Somehow they swallow these pellets in one go.
You just can’t have too many chickens in your day…
Another one of those chickens hopping about the woods this morning…
The orange paint on this tree means that this tree is scheduled for execution. This tree and trees like it are suffering from Dutch Elm Disease and are dying anyway. The good news is that the trees, once executed, are cut up and left on the ground to slowly rot away and, importantly, become home for all sorts of tiny creatures. We’re hoping that more trees will be planted to replaced the now condemned trees.
Couldn’t eat a whole one!
Little chicken, big beak!
These chaps have to get in there quickly before the crows come along…
Best viewed if quality set to 1080p (control at bottom of the video image)
It is always nice to see the snowdrops breaking through. The end of the winter is coming thank goodness!
The Big Chicken is back!!!
This is Mrs Black Chicken. She sits and waits for us when we take the dog for a walk in the morning. Many of the good people of Banff and Macduff feed the birds which probably explains why Mrs Black Chicken is a bit on the portly size…
