One of my favourite work boats…
A little windy today and yesterday…
Banff harbour, Scotland…
The harbour in Banff, Scotland…
The person who invents a rope that won’t tangle will make a fortune!
A third class ride is better than a first class walk (or swim).
Just caught the sun as it was going down…
I really must make an effort to find other things to photograph!
Just can’t get enough gears these days…
The quayside in Monnickendam town harbour is being extended. This means that more people will be able to sit and enjoy food, drink and ice cream during the summer.
Here’s our home at our winter berth. We’re tucked away in a warm corner of the marina and nicely out of the wind.
The grandsons take charge of 30 tonnes of barge (which is also our home!)
We live on a boat and people often ask us what happens to the human waste. Here’s the answer. The waste is sucked out of the boat’s holding tank and is taken away to be disposed of correctly (and legally). Devices such as these are known as [delightfully] ‘poo suckers.’ The poo sucking process is quick, easy and hygienic. The human waste in the holding tanks is often known as ‘black water’. Water from the shower and sinks is known as ‘grey water’.
It’s that time of year here at the marina when people wrap up their boats for the winter.
