That is very odd, what is it!
I was hoping you would know given you live close (in?) the desert. It’s an old image. I took a photograph of cactus (cacti?) plants in the Botanic Gardens in Amsterdam quite a few years ago and have only just got around to processing the images. So lazy!!!

LOL. It looks like my grandmother’s stuffed pincushion. Seriously. It looks like fabric sewn together. Très cool photo, for sure!
I took this image years ago in the Amsterdam Botanic Gardens and for many years the images has been sitting, unprocessed, on my hard drive. I have no idea what kind of cactus it is but I agree, it looks as though it is made of some kind of fabric. Nature is strange!
