  2. Yes. They used to call them ‘missiles with a pilot on top.’ They have two Lightnings down south that can’t fly but they can run them up and down the runway with both engines blazing. What a noise!

  4. I believe our Civil Aviation Authority (our version of your FAA) is very strict about old aircraft. There are plenty of WW1 and WW2 aircraft still flying here but the more recent aircraft (post WW2) are technically very complex and sadly, they have to stay on the ground. Better to see them on the ground in one piece however.
