Join me as I sit and listen to the rain hitting our sun lounge roof. You might hear the odd seagull and my iPhone going ‘ding’.
After waiting for many months, my new Zoom F6 sound recorder has arrived and the raindrops falling just outside my office window are the first recordings I have made on the Zoom 6. Float 32 recording – magical. This all feeds in to my shocking audio habit…
First comment. The F6 will be tricky with anyone with fat fingers!
Your new device works well, Richard, please send rain over here! 🇬🇧❤️
Scotland might be short of many things but rain isn’t one of them – especially this week. Whilst temperatures have been getting up to 40C (104F) down south in England, the warmest we’ve had recently is 26C (74F) which is like natural air conditioning. And, the air up here is SO fresh. There are plenty of reasons why we live in Scotland. Really like the Zoom F6 and hoping to get out there to do some recording (when the rain stops!!!). Also very busy getting ready for more course. I’ll be vanishing for a while in August/September again. No peace for the wicked!
I had no idea that it could get up to 104 degrees anywhere in the UK, very surprising to me! I wish you safe travels wherever your going.
Hot weather like you enjoy is rare in the UK. Here in Scotland it has been much cooler. There are plenty of good reasons why we live in Scotland, the cooler summers being one of them. Despite what most people down south think, Scotland (where we are on the coast) never gets very cold in the winter. The Gulf Stream (courtesy of the Gulf of Mexico) keeps the chill off.
That’s amazing, thanks for this, Richard! The Gulf of Mexico has very warm water, like 85 degrees! I’m certain that many storms that batter our east coast make it all the way across the Atlantic to you. Especially hurricanes.
Hurricanes very rare here but strong winds common in the winter, especially in Scotland. We live on the east coast and so when the wind blows out of the east, we tend to get a battering. The Gulf Stream curls around the top of Scotland and keeps us warm during the winter. The temperature where we live in Banff seldom drops between -2C to -3C (26F-28F). Without the Gulf Stream we’d be in the deep freeze!!!
