Thank you. I’m lucky. I work at the harbour at weekends and the shipyard folk are always replacing damaged and rusty components on the fishing boats. It is amazing to see how much damage salt water can do to equipment and boats generally.
Ah John, you are a much better engineer than I am!! If it is still there when I go back next week, I’ll ask one of the shipyard chaps what it is – or, more precisely, what it was!

Indeed, plenty of weather in Banff (the Scottish Banff) and salt water off the sea too. Corrosion central!
