If you live on a boat like we do, you seldom see the bottom of your boat (the bit below the water line). We moved to our winter moorings today (a little early this year) and so the fine people at Jachthaven Hemmeland lifted Lucie (our boat) out of the water for us so we could inspect her bottom. Apart from green slime (oh yuk) and freshwater shellfish, we were pleased to see that Lucie’s paintwork is in good shape and there are no signs of rust or corrosion (every boat owner’s nightmare). Our sacrificial galvanic anodes (we have six of them on the hull below the water line) are also in good shape. In short, Lucie has a very nice bottom.
