A WW2 German night fighter. The numbers are frightening. Over 50,000 allied airmen were lost during WW2. I’ve no idea how many Germans died but I would suspect an equally large number. These aircraft would hunt out British and American bombers and shoot them down. On the allied side, thousands of young airmen from all parts of the world died in the terrible circumstances. All so very pointless. I’m truly thankful I’ve lived in times where I have not been required to go off and fight a war.
