I’ve been reading a book recently about our Special Operation Executive (SOE – similar to your OSS): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_Operations_Executive The book, by Leo Marks: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leo_Marks truly opens up a window into WW2. So many very brave Dutch people gave their lives fighting the Nazi occupiers during WW2. They were supported by the SOE but not always well. Those resistance fighters who were captured by the Nazis were treated so very badly and usually ended up being executed. Some extraordinarily brave Dutch people and monumentally cruel Nazi occupiers. A sad page in our history and it shows what happens when extremists get into power.
