Nature is pretty cruel by and large. We saw the first ducklings of the season. A mother duck and 9 little ducklings in tow this morning. By this evening she was down to 6 ducklings. Very sad to see life snuffed out so early. But, at times, quite good to be a bird when you can sit out on the deck and soak up the sun.
