This video was sent to me. It’s chilling, frightening, highly disturbing and sobering – all in equal measure.
I do believe that immigrants don’t arrive carrying firearms.
“Each year, more than 30,000 Americans are killed by gun violence” (ceasefireusa.org).
It would appear that Mr Trump has more pressing problems other than unworkable and counterproductive immigration controls and expensive and ineffective walls. I wonder when work will start on the wall between Canada and the US!!!

The quayside in Monnickendam town harbour is being extended. This means that more people will be able to sit and enjoy food, drink and ice cream during the summer.

The Netherlands is the very best place to buy bread. Here’s the young lady at Monnickendam market (Saturdays) when many different types of bread and cakes (yum!) are available. Some of the bread and cakes are cooked on the stall. It doesn’t get fresher than that!
The Best Bread
You never know when you are going to come across a shark in the back streets of Monnickendam.
Or…. (Photoshop tip coming up):
If your image just won’t work not matter what Photoshop tricks you play, stick a shark in the image. Never fails!

Regarding my earlier post, here’s some delicious Dutch drop (liquorice).
The most delicious drop
Here’s our home at our winter berth. We’re tucked away in a warm corner of the marina and nicely out of the wind.
The Winter Mooring
If you like drop (liquorice (or licorice in the US) then the very best place to get it is on a Saturday at the street market in Monnickendam in the Netherlands. The gentleman you see in the image has a bewildering array of drop for sale and lots of other delicious sweets too.

The winter sunset over the Netherlands today. For some reason the image came out a bit like a J M W Turner painting. A hint of The Fighting Temaraire (minus a boat or two!).

My fascination with these strange mushrooms (?) continues. They seem to be surviving the winter against all the odds. The strange life of fungi!

Katy, our dog, on the lookout for ducks. She will chase any duck she sees but never ever catches one. Ducks, quite clearly, are smarter than dogs!

This is Marken which used to be an island but it is now connected to the Dutch mainland by a causeway. A beautiful place to visit.
