The Future of the Ukraine and Scotland

Two beautiful young girls, both aged 16. One of the girls from Scotland, the other from the Ukraine. Both have their futures ahead of them. They have been brought together in Scotland by a brutal war brought about by a man who is now, it is clear, completely unhinged. What right has Putin to destroy the hopes and dreams of young people in the Ukraine and other places?

The Ukrainian Party

A bit of a party here last night for our guests from the Ukraine. A good time was had by all. Our thoughts, though, were and are very much with the people who remain in the Ukraine.

The image below represents the beginning of a deep, warm and lasting relationship between the people Scotland and the people of the Ukraine. Apart from anything else, the Scots and the Ukrainians make fine drinking partners!!!

The Ikea Shambles

For the first and last time, I visited Ikea in Southampton this afternoon. I booked a ‘click and collect’ pick-up and oh my, what an utter shambles it was. Hopeless uncommunicative staff moving at a glacial pace (if they are there at all – see the picture of the empty ‘click and collect’ room). They sent me an email telling you that my pick-up is ready and then, when you arrive, you have to wait, and wait, and wait, and wait. An so, goodbye Ikea, you will never see me again!

Ikea’s empty click and collect hall – everyone kept waiting.

The End of the Road for Adobe!

I never thought this would happen but I have just closed my Adobe Creative Cloud account. Frankly, Adobe are charging too much, too often. I’ve been an Adobe customer for over 20 years. I have moved to products (Affinity, Apple, ACDSee) that do not charge me monthly for their products.

And so, so long Adobe. When you charge more reasonably, I might return as a customer but, for now, you’ve lost me.

The Cycle Path Question

Why is it, I have to ask, that in the Netherlands they have miles of really good cycle tracks whilst here in the UK we have hardly any that even begin to compare with the cycle tracks they have in the Netherlands. Could it be something to do with having a completely useless, weak, corrupt and currently paralysed Conservative government in power? Perhaps the Dutch government could tell the British government how to run a country. I never thought I would end up despising the Conservative Party…but, well, here we are!

The Log Jam (the state of UK politics)

This log jam represents British politics. Never before in the field of British politics has so much been fucked up for so many by so few!! British politicians – not a good one among ’em. I’d rather trust a snake oil seller. British politicians should be hanging their sorry heads in shame. Indeed, they make us ashamed to be British. As for Liz Truss….is this really the best politics has to offer? I despair!
